East Twenty Bar – Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

Saw this place when we visited the ArcelorMittal Orbit a few weeks ago and I knew we’d go back, it has a good amount of outdoor seating but as sunny we sat on the grass opposite to enjoy the weather and watch the cormorants.

I had a decaf latte and a raspberry and almond slice whilst Kerry had a macchiato and WP_20150614_003an oat and chocolate cookie. Only £8.95 in total which is a bargain given the location really, and the choice was good, they also do meals if you want something more substantial. The coffees were nice, the latte was very smooth and pretty much perfect. Kerry’s only complaint was the size of hers, not helped by the fact it was in a standard sized cup so appeared smaller than it was! Next time she says she will try something else, I have get her onto some frothy coffee at some stage.

WP_20150614_004The raspberry and almond slice was lovely, really big slice too, so big I only ate half and then carefully wrapped the other half to eat when we got home. Kerry only really nibbled at the cookie and brought it home and ate the next day, it left no real impression on her and would not have another.

We will go again as it is a really nice area and it holds a special place to us as after drinking the coffee whilst relaxing on the grass I proposed. So as well the coffee, cake and kissed had the bonus of a ring added to the end.
